Lady Gaga calls for equal rights of homosexuals

The U.S. singer Lady Gaga has claimed at an appearance in the Euro Pride in Rome equal rights for homosexuals in the world.

Rome. - "I stand here as a world citizen and urge you together with governments worldwide, to help our dream of equality," the pop diva said in her speech before a huge crowd in the Circus Maximus in the center of the Italian capital.

"Let love be the revolutionaries and use our strong human strength to save lives and to encourage unity in the world."

The flashy costumes and for their spirited performances by famous singer was at her performance in the arena near the Colosseum, the Vatican's unusually restrained. She wore an elegant black and white dress of the designer Gianni Versace and a green wig with straight cut.

In its half-hour speech, Lady Gaga waived any provocation in the direction of the church and the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. "I respect for families who believe, but I think it is important to call for a change and have to see."

Lady Gaga called several states that restrict the rights of homosexuals: Lithuania, Poland, Russia and the countries of the Middle East. According to the Euro-pride organizers a million people watched the performance by the pop diva who sang two songs after her speech at the piano.

Previously, hundreds of thousands took part in a gay pride parade through Rome. In other European cities took place on Saturday parades of gays and lesbians. In Croatia, several people were injured when gay opponents threw stones and bottles at participants.
